My youngest daughter made it in 7th grade and wanted to throw it away. Can you believe that!! I scooped it up immediately but then had to convince my husband that I did NOT buy more unfinished furniture! I did have and idea about letting the student of the week sit there and use a lap board to do their work. The student of the week would get to use it the whole week and they also get to sit with our class mascot "Bat Bear" a build a bear wearing a batman costume. What do you think?Evahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14862694261623960857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4552904866848236784.post-25932436812809702932011-08-06T12:08:42.227-04:002011-08-06T12:08:42.227-04:00I think it comes from those first few years of tea...I think it comes from those first few years of teaching when you have NOTHING. It is instinctive that you have to grab every freebie you can find. I am finally in a permanent position myself (teaching grade 1/2) but have taught everything from K-8 over the last 4 years. I have only felt comfortable getting rid of things this year instead of keeping boxes of "I might need that someday" papers and "things"
I love your comprehension ideas for read to someone. I plan to try it this year, hoping it will keep them on task a little bit more.

Thanks
Jenn

Back Hall CollaboratorsJennRosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14566159640808728196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4552904866848236784.post-84303768585907696752011-08-06T10:12:42.437-04:002011-08-06T10:12:42.437-04:00I love how you set that up!! For instance, right now, I am looking for a similar trapezoid table for my writing station. Right now it is on 2 desks and that simply won't do. :)

~Amanda
The Teaching ThiefAmanda Kendallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07584912126047807038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4552904866848236784.post-28605885425140098402011-08-05T20:31:19.920-04:002011-08-05T20:31:19.920-04:00I am a furniture hoarder too but since being moved...I am a furniture hoarder too but since being moved into a smaller classroom have had to give up some...I had to chose between feeling cramped or not....I LOVE the comprehension eggs:))

4th Grade FrolicsTarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14100654459834919470noreply@blogger.com
