The Sound of Music is one of the best musicals ever written. It's definitely Rodgers and Hammerstein's best. I prefer Les Miserables over any other Broadway show, but my favorite movie musical is High Society with Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and Grace Kelly.
Oh my word! I love musicals and have been known to burst into song because something someone said reminded me of one. My oldest daughter is a stage actress, mostly doing musical theater. I didn't think I'd ever want to see The Sound of Music live because we'd watched the movie so many times when my kids were young, but when she was cast as Liesl...well, I just had to. And loved it all over again! I have never seen In the Heights but love the music; I'd love to see Beautiful and A Gentlemen's Guide to Love and Murder. And about ten others.... And I read Anne of Green Gables to my kids when they were young and they loved it so much we took a vacation to Prince Edward Island, where we saw her house, and the show, and enjoyed all things "Anne." I'm totally with you on Gilbert Blythe! What's not to like? Marion MentoringintheMiddle
I think the Sound of Music is one of the best musicals ever composed. It's doubtlessly Rodgers and Hammerstein's best. I favor Les Miserables over whatever viable Broadway show, however my most loved film musical is High Society with Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra. I would like to say Thanks for sharing such a nice collection. Find helpful stuff for the kids. Printable Math Worksheets
I LOVE Rent! I may or may not turn those songs up in my car and sing at the top of my lungs. :-)

ReplyDeleteAnne of Green Gables is one of my favorite books! I always turn to it when I haven't picked up a new one from the library.
