The fabulous Patricia over at Primary Practice shared this blog post earlier about student blogging. She recently shared it again at the 2nd Grade Teacher's Club and I was so jazzed about it!
When I started this blog last summer, that was my goal- a place where I could instantly keep parents up-to-date with the classroom... BUT... I had so much fun talking to ya'll that I quickly hijacked the blog and kept it for myself! I have found blogging SO much more fun and easier than upkeeping a website so I do think I am going to let my classroom website expire when it runs out in June.
So... here's the new site!
I have only done one little tiny post and I haven't told my kiddos yet... but I hope you'll check it out! You can click the picture below!
PS- the web URL is whoostalking.blogspot.com... Am I the only one who finds that amusing/scary...?!
I plan to show my kiddos tomorrow and talk about what this means, send home a parent note for permission to post, etc... and hopefully kids will be submitting posts to me next week!
I saw the student blogging docs too and I think I'm going to start classroom blog as well!!! I'm looking forward to finding out how yours goes. :)

I use wikis a lot. I have one for my grade 2 members, one for students and families and 1 for myself. They need a password to log in but are private other wisw.

A Year of Many Firsts
I'm impressed that you had a classroom website and will now have a blog! Lately as I've been browsing the Internet for local schools with special ed programs, that I can check out in the future for jobs, I noticed that barely ANY teachers have websites OR blogs! The ones that do have links up often lead to empty pages where a teacher maybe started to build a page, but gave up after writing something like "Welcome to our class!"

I have a classroom blog for letting parents in on what we are doing. For kid interaction though, we use Edmodo. It is really great. Kind of like facebook, totally interactive and more dialoguey than blogs. If you want any of my information on it, send me an email.

Oh my! On our drive home from Kalamazoo tonight, I was racking my brain trying to come up with a name for your new blog....but you beat me to it! That is a much better name than I thought of.....I was thinking something like Pint Sized Papers or Pint Sized Printers.
