Ok- here's the whole picture I gave you a snippet of yesterday:
Now, you all are astute! Someone even noticed the cupcake wrappers haphazardly stuffed in the colored bins and wondered if I was doing a cupcake theme! Um... no. I just found them and shoved them in the nearest container!
So, I'm packing up. This is everything from my closets that I'm taking with me as I...
I just can't wait anymore and want to shout it from the rooftops... I have just accepted a new job, in a new district, teaching 3rd grade english language arts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love my current school and my colleagues, but reading is my absolute passion and I am sooooooooo excited to be joining an amazing new staff to teach reading all day long to 3rd graders!
Some of you figured out I was moving to a new job after seeing some of my recent pins on Pinterest dealing with different grade levels... you clever people! :)
So...
I'm going out of order from my blog title...
I want to change the name of my blog. Something about 3rd grade maybe? Or reading? It has to be super cute. Feel free to work my name into it too if need be... or the bunting theme of my blog. My brain is fried after days of keeping this exciting news from you!
If you leave a comment with a suggestion and I choose yours, you will get to choose $25.00 worth of products from my TpT store!!!!!!!!!!!! Feel free to give me suggestions for 3rd graders too! What classroom theme would they like?! I've been wanting to switch from cowboys for a while and this is the perfect opportunity.
I'd like to have my new name picked out by Friday so Alicia at Dreamlike Magic Designs can work on my new header.
AND... Mackenzie became my 2000th blog follower last night, which is AH-MAZING!
So, thanks to her, I am giving away ALL of my *tiny* ELA packs (for grades 1-3)... since I'll be an ELA teacher! When you enter, it says it's just for my Silent Letter pack, but you'll download that from Teacher's Notebook. Then I will e-mail you my Marshmallow adjective pack, One Wonderful Night prefix and suffix pack, Polar Opposites antonym pack, and Surf's Up for synonyms pack!!!!!!! AND... all of those things are 20% off at my two shops, in case you can't wait to win and need them now! :)
Click the picture to enter the giveaway and don't forget to submit a potential blog name in the comments to win $25.00 worth of your choice of my stuff!

So excited for you! It's definitely encouraging to see someone else following and living their dream! I'll have to carefully think about this blog name thing....but CONGRATS!!!!
ReplyDelete"Read All About It" and do a media, newspaper, magazine, journalist theme.
ReplyDelete"Bainbridge Tree House" and do a Magic Tree House/nature theme
"Literary Learners" - book theme
You could take the Dr. Seuss quote "The more you read the more you know..." and do a Dr. Seuss themed classroom and your room/blog could be called Reading Roamers or Third Grade Travelers you could even do a passport/around the world theme (travel as we read)
Take advantage of the popularity in the "Keep Calm" quotes and the name of your blog could be "Keep Calm and Read On" and then your classroom could be full of comfortable furniture.
You could do something with "Reed a Book in 3rd Grade" and have a jungle theme with pandas
I like the owl theme. "Hooting About Great Books"

ok...first off - YAY for you!!!
ReplyDeleteBUT...I don't think I'd change your name to a specific grade...because what if you change grades again? you know what I mean?? BUT, you could still redo your blog theme :) When I taught 3rd grade (for MANY MANY years), they LOVED sports...or you could do a "Fairy tale" theme and use like dragons - since fairy tales are GREAT for both reading and writing, which also go hand in hand when teaching....do like dragon in the clouds reading books and such??
Congratulations! I'm so glad God made 3rd grade teachers! I love my little people (firsties)!
ReplyDeleteI'm terrible with names but my son is 10 and loved the rock star theme. At that age they start using ipods, etc. so I was thinking you could go with the rock star them and call your kids Bains Band or Bains Groupies!
Good luck!

Third Grade's A Charm
Hi! Congrats on your new job!!! Iwas trying to come up with a name, but I really like the one you have...it is sort of a universal love for reading name...and I love the teach, love learn everyday as well!!! It is a great name...but I also understand the need for change... How about Bainbridge's Cafe... for the Daily 5 and Cafe?? but you must keep the "teach, love and learn..." Good luck in third grade!!
ReplyDeleteAmy :)
Congratulations to you! I'm so happy for you.
ReplyDeleteI have a few ideas for new names:
How about "A Dream Come True" with castles, knights, and dragons. Or the same title but with stage lights, movie and/or theatre props.
or "Home is where Your Books Are"
or "The Write Stuff" with school supplies theme.
or "Hangin' with Mrs. Bainbridge" and a jungle theme, animal prints, etc.
In any case, I'll still follow cuz you're fabulous!

Congrats on your new path! I have been with 3rd grade special ed, adding in other grades, depending on the students, as needed. Looking at other posts for ideas, mine is close: Crossing the Bridge to Reading Success in Third Grade.
ReplyDeleteDecor/Theme? anything with nature- I picture a pond with lots of trees and flowers and kids walking across bridges...
Good Luck with whichever name you choose for your new blog!
I love the name you chose today, but here is my take on a new name: A Bunting We Will Go (yes, that's my creativity in a nutshell, lol). Congrats on the new job and keep creating!
ReplyDeleteFaithful in First
I think the new name fits you perfectly! I was thinking you could make your button say "the 3 Bs" or something.... Since you now teach 3rd grade :) just an idea! Starting a new job is fun. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new position. Oh, how I will miss all of your 2nd Grade goodies and great ideas. How about Bainbridge's Brainiacs. I even like all the new clip art I am seeing with the kids with the big heads from scrappin doodles.
