My sis and bro-in-law helped me prime the bulletin boards on Sunday. First, we got everything taped off and used the old bulletin board paper to protect the white board...
Then we primed them all. I bought 2 quarts of primer and that did two coats on all of my BBs.
Then today I went in and finished up. I had 1 quart of the green and 1 quart of the blue. I did two coats and each color was on 3 BBs.
Here's how it looked when I was done...
I love it! It took me only about 2 hours today to do all the green and blue. So that was my summer classroom project... now just to wait until the room has been cleaned so I can get back in and work some more!
I also did a MAJOR update to my companion to Ruth Stiles Gannett's My Father's Dragon. If you had purchased this unit, please re-download it! It went from 12 measly pages to 38 and it's SO much better now! And if you don't know this book, you MUST read it! My 2nd graders loved it every year and my 3rd graders did too! It's such a good read!

The colors look wonderful! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that you can paint bulletin boards. We aren't allowed to paint, but yours looks great. I now use the paper that doesn't fade so I keep it up over the summer.

I painted my bulletin boards last summer and I loved it. Not sure if I was allowed too or not. I just did it. I painted my pink and I used black borders around them and loved it. I moved schools for this next year so I am not sure what colors I want to paint them. My couch that I have in my classroom is pink with some pastel colors so I will probably use one of those colors off the couch. Anyway, loved looking at yours.

Wow! That would save so much time. I am thinking about painting it first and then share afterwards so I can plead ignorance if we're not not supposed to.
