Cutest Giveaway EVER!

Before I get to the awesome giveaway, I want to say THANK YOU to Janis at Caffeinated Conclusions, Mrs. Shepherd at Shepherd's Shining Stars, Elisabeth at The Adventures of Miss Elisabeth, Abby at Third Grade Bookwork, Mel D at Oh The Places We'll Go, and Tara at Fourth Grade Frolics for listing my blog in their Top 10 Teacher Blogs! I was so excited to hear from them today... I'm so glad you all find what I have to say useful!

I have too many favorite blogs to do a Top 10... you can see the blogs that I stalk over on the right. Having only entered "Teacher Blogland" in June, I've been so amazed at the creative and generous teachers out there who invite us into their brains and their classrooms every day! Being a part of such a caring community of professionals who support one another all around the world is just one of the many things that make this the best profession on earth!

Now... for the GIVEAWAY!!!!

My husband and I spent the day shopping today and we stopped at Michael's where I found so much great stuff for my classroom on a HUGE clearance!

I got these puppets for $0.20 each!


I think I'm going to pair them up with books that have a dog, cat, butterfly, bee, or flower as the main character so my kiddos can do retellings!

Then I found these keychains for $0.14 each!


They are stuffed and fully plush and 3-D cuteness! I'm going to take the keychain parts off and then... I don't know.

And that's where you come in... and the giveaway too!

What you need to do is:

Next week on WEDNESDAY (because who doesn't need a mid-week pick me up?!) I will use the random number generator to choose a winner and the winner will receive via snail mail... their own set of the same keychains that I bought for my classroom! That's right... a colorful set of 6 cute keychains for you to use however you desire... a dinosaur, snail, robot, lady bug, flower, and a turtle!

I think that's it and I hope you'll be excited about these too. I can't wait to hear how you'd use the keychains in your classrooms. I know you'll have some awesome ideas!

    Those puppets are much cheaper than the ones I showed you in the Lakeview catalog ...good purchase! :)

    hey Christina,
    I follow your Blog and your facebook as well as Teaching Oasis' facebook. My idea for these cute key chains would to put them at the end of dowel and use them as pointers to read the room. The puppets are adorable too. Another thing that I might use them for is a story in a bag idea that i saw on another blog. I guess I will have to post that on my blog about your cute fins and giveaway.

    I would use the keychains to put sight words on. I would print them on paper that wasn't too big, laminate and punch holes. I think that would make them fun for the kids to grab =) I need to head to my Michaels and see if they have any of these great deals!

    I would use the keychain on an alphabet magnet wall. I would put magnets on the back and have students place the keychain animals under the appropriate letter. You can then add other 3d/wood/plush little magnetic animals to add to this alphabet wall.

    2,3, & 5 done. I plan to teach in a special education classroom when I finish school. I would use items like the key chains for my creative writing kit. I plan to have a bin of items that the kids can take to their desks and manipulate to help spark their creativity. (I.e., Writing about Thanksgiving: A robot rode a snail to my house for Thanksgiving dinner...) I'm hoping that if this doesn't cure I-don't-know-what-to-write-itis, that it will at least alleviate some of the symptoms. Don't enter me into the drawing though, I plan to be at Michael's sometime this week.

    I love your blog! I can picture your husband pushing the cart around Michael's, sighing as you toss items in. That amuses me.

    As an elementary school librarian I would make up a story to use with the key chair pieces and put a piece of velcro behind them to use on my flannel board. I follow you on FB!

    I would use these keychains in my writing workstation. I'd place them in a brown paper bag. Each student would reach in and pull out one. They'd then have to create a story using the keychain as inspiration. To differentiate I'd have the children pick 2 or even 3 keychains and have to figure out a way to include all three into their stories.

    I would use these keychains as reading buddies/sight word practice buddies. I would also allow students who might need "someone" to talk to about a problem to use the keychains to "listen"

    Hmm, I like the idea of using these as sight word key chains, but I think I might stick some Velcro on the back and use them on my felt board. We could practice writing sentences using ?, ! and . using the "buddy" of the day, or non fiction and fiction chart stories. I love little things like these that spark students' imaginations!

    Hi Christina,
    I went to a Linda Holliman workshop on Literacy Centers. She has the class make up their own lists that remind them of a certain topic. For example, "September is...". The students decorate their own index cards with their completed sentence. Laminate them and put them on the key chains. You can do this with the flower using "Spring is...". The words can be used at Centers many different ways. The key chains are so cute!

    I would use those adorable little characters as writing inspiration for Work on Writing in the Daily Five. I think the kids would love picking one and writing a story about it! It would be fun to take the kid's picture with the character too and assemble the stories into a class book. Then compare the different story ideas that various kids came up with for the same character cutie.

    I have tables rather than desks in my classroom and I just so happen to have 6 of them! I would use them as table mascots!!! I currently use laminated pictures, but these would be so much more AWESOME!
