Thanks Stacee for asking about this "Clip Chart Check List"!
Here is the file for you to use to document your students' clip chart colors at the end of each day. Once you download the file in Adobe, you can fill in the text for the month and student names.
And here's a sample that I filled out a bit so you can see how I use it. I added a blurb to explain on the image... just click to view it larger!

Thanks Christina! This is so cool!! I had a plain one I used last year. Can't wait to use this one. :) Becky
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThat's great. Do you send any type of communication home to the parents?

I'm so glad you all can use it!
ReplyDeleteLittlest Learners- I do not send home a daily behavior sheet. Unless they get to the top or the bottom I do not inform parents. I don't want that to become the focus of our day together when the kids get home.
:)

Thanks so much for this! I can see this definitely coming in handy.
ReplyDeleteMarvelous Multiagers!
This was on my to-do list for tomorrow. Literally. I have no words to describe how grateful I am!!

I'm so glad, Miss Ice! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Christina for sharing this! That really helps and would be easy to document. Have you ever had a kid go from red (say before lunch) but end up on green by the end of the day? Just wondering as how would you mark that?? I know you mentioned you control how they move, but if they end up having a great afternoon, how does that work? I'm sure I'm over thinking it all. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks again,
Stacee
Stacee- I put where they are at the end of the day. And this document is only for my records so I can look for patterns or have documentation should parents have questions, since I don't share behavior reports with them on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteHowever, if a student was consistently going from one extreme of behavior to another, I would look at an alternative system for them as this may not be appropriate.
Hope that makes sense!

Thanks for sharing!

You are wonderful!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing!! I'm a first year, first grade teacher and need all the help I can get. I'm making my clip behavior chart now (using your beautiful titles) and found the perfect "gems" at Michaels today!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm using the 'rainbow' colors system this year and needed a document to record behavior!

Thank you so much for sharing! I know this is kind of late, but I just found your site. I wanted to ask-do you do any kind of reward or anything for those students who make it to blue or purple? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Katie! They get the satisfaction of knowing they made good choices if they get to purple or blue! :)

Hey Christina! Just wondering if you have a parent letter or letter that you put in your sub folder for substitutes?! Please let me know. I was going to attempt to make one, but thought I'd check to see if you had one I could use as an example or guide. Any help would be MUCH appreciated!! Thanks!
