I'll Show You Mine...

lesson plans, that is!  :)  You can even show us yours if you have it on your blog!

I have a typed template that I print off, but still hand write in.  I need the <strike>comfort</strike> flexibility of being able to erase!  I have a really hard time with not doing something if it's written in my lesson plan book... so I can't take the leap into total typing yet because I wouldn't be able to erase and re-work my lesson plans if I didn't get to something!

Now, this is just my template... I didn't actually take a picture of one I had written on.

But, here's what I print out and then store in a 3-ring binder.  It HAS to be color coded... I'm just a little weird about that part!  I do like that, the things that are always the same, are typed on there every week and then I just add a little more specific.  Sometimes, if I'm doing an involved unit or something, I just write "see insert" and then I add a page for the week with much more detail about what I'll be doing each day of the unit.

I have them in a 3-ring binder that has tabs for subs (sample schedule, emergency plans, substitute handbook), student info, emergency procedures, school policies, and a pencil pouch full of pens and markers for when I bring that bad boy home to write lesson plans.

Ok.  Here they are!  I just uploaded them as images, but they *should* be bigger if you click on them!

Are yours posted on your blog?  I'd love to see them too!  Leave a comment with the URL to them... I'm sure everyone would love to head over and peek into your room through your plan book!

PS- just 3 more Facebook fans to go until 800... and 13 more blog followers until 1300!  You guys are so sweet!  :)

Hey lady, I love how yours are color coded :) They look great and so simple and clean. I love mine because I write down the specific language I use for my reading/writing workshop mini lessons, but they are soooo long! I think I may be changing it up now :) Beth posted her's the other day :) Have a super rest of your day :)

I also linked to you with mine. Well, technically it belongs to Kristen at Ladybugs Teacher Files, but I asked permission to share since I tweaked hers a smidge!

I have not shared my plans yet . . . but that's a great idea!! :)
I am cracking up at your need to erase. I feel like that, too, but I still type. Now I cross out and then sometimes type them again!!!

While teaching, I preferred to print my templates and hand write as well; however, after typing I found that I was able to really evaluate and compare my planning and what actually got completed. This really helped me to plan better the following months and years. A really great tool is to convert your template to PDF (leaving enough room for longer descriptions) and then convert that into PDF forms. You need to have Adobe Acrobat professional. Using the form allowed me to save the file on a flash drive or external hard drive and change things around as I needed to (sort of like cheating I guess). Your templates are very similar to the ones I had made for myself...
Have a great day and thanks for sharing!

Where can we download your template? I love it!

Very organized! What font do you use? It's cute!

I couldn't believe how much you all get done before my students even enter the classroom. I taught at a school where the students started to arrive by 7:15am, and I remember how dark the mornings were but how nice the afternoons were getting out by 3. The school I'm at now, the kids start coming in at 8:40am and we're done by 3:45pm.

My sister and I have just started our blog, creativelifedesigns, and we are also both teachers! Neither one of us has our own classroom yet, but we hope to soon! We have made our own version of a "teacher's plan book". I used a printed template that I had wrote in when I was student teaching and got some great ideas while I was student teaching which helped us to come up with our planner. Our planning pages are similar to yours, thanks for sharing, we are always looking for inspiration :)
