Winners... Finally and Two More Hallway Hunts!

What a week!

Fairy Tale day on Thursday was a huge success... but I also came down with a huge cold.  Which put my blogging and computer work on a huge hold for the week!

But... I am happy to be back and able to breathe out of 50% of my nostrils!

Thanks for all of the great comments and ideas on my grammar classroom/hallway hunts post the other day!  It seems like we are all always looking for ways to make grammar more engaging for our students!  Classroom and hallway hunts are always a winner in room 108!

Hubby has chosen the winners are they are... Suzy Q #39 who wished for comparative/superlative adjective work and Deb #49 who wished for something on helping verbs.  We'll be doing helping verbs in class next week (3rd grade Treasures Unit 4, Week 3!), so I actually was just finishing up something on them... and I also finished a comparative/superlative hunt too!  So, I'll be shipping those your way, ladies... as well as your choice of two of my other hunts!  :)

Find the comparative/superlative hunt on TpT!

Added at 10:03pm!  :)
Find this fun antonym hunt on TpT!

We're off school until Wednesday... technically I have school on Tuesday; my district is attending PD with Mike Mattos.  Do you know him?  Have you seen him?  OMG.  He is ah-mazing.  He totally lights a fire under your teaching behind and get you excited about interventions and "all means all"!  I've had the pleasure of seeing him twice before and can't wait to go again on Tuesday!

Does your school do interventions?  We do and I love it... ours are extremely fluid; our groups change almost weekly and, sometimes, daily thanks to the great assessing of our math teacher and the great organization of our Title 1 teacher!  It's awesome for our students and has really helped us make some huge strides in math this year.  Each grade level in my building has a 35-minutes intervention block each morning.  We call it "Success Time".  The students might be in any of their grade-level classes, the computer lab, Title 1 room, or with any adult who is free at that time to provide interventions.  It leaves our needier groups very small and allows our higher groups doing independent work on IXL or Math Facts in a Flash.

Anyway... looking forward to Mike Mattos and being inspired to continue providing interventions and great education!  :)

Winner! Winner! Ruined Dinner!

Yes, that's right.  Our dinner tonight was ruined!  I made some marinated steak that was so salty it was inedible!  :(  BOO!  We figured something out, but it hurt to throw all that money in the trash!

However, the other part of my title is Winner!  Winner! and I have the winners of my Groundhog Day pack and MLKj flippy book!

Hubby, that great ol' number picker, just shouted 40 and 8 for the giveaway winners... so, Tammy at Primary Paradise (#40) and Ashley at Just Reed (#8) I'll be sending you both my Groundhog pack and MLKj flippy!

I'm going to mark my Groundhog pack down a dollar for a few days... so if you didn't win and you'd like it... hopefully that helps!  :)

Let Me Help You With That...

-your font addiction, that is!

I loved reading all of your comments yesterday on my font addiction... I am so glad I am not alone!

Today I made 10 more fonts... check 'em out!
Find them on TpT- on sale for $4!

I'm LOVING "Hot Mess" and "Pretty" and so excited about getting to work on some classroom materials using them!

So... I had my hubby do my favorite super random and scientific method of choosing winners for my fonts.

He chose 6- the first three I'll send the font set I showed you yesterday and the second three I'll send the new fonts.  I also had him choose 1 person to win both sets!

So... here we go...

The three winners of my very first ever set of fonts are...
#36- Special Teacher for Special Kids
#73- Beach Teacher
#3- Rachel at A-B-Seymour

The three winners of my new set of fonts (pictured above) are...
#69- Nicole Shelby
#52- Cherie
#47- Kristin (Teachntx)

And he chose #4 as the winner for both sets and that is Tania at My Second Sense!

All fonts have been sent, so if you don't see it... check your junk mail or drop me a line!

To all of you going back to school tomorrow, good luck!  We go back on Monday... I'll probably spend the next few days enabling my font addiction by making more fonts to add to it!  Bwahahaha!

Winners, Winners, Chicken Dinners...?!

Ok- you got me.  No chicken dinners are actually involved.

But... the winners of my 2600 follower "I'm thankful for YOU" giveaway are...

Karyn- I'll be e-mailing you an Amazon card and Jen... you can pick out $20 of stuff from my TpT store!

Thanks to everyone who entered... and thanks for making the bloggy world a great place to be!

Stay tuned... I'm working on a fun product today (if my nose ever stops running and my eyes stop watering!) that I'll be giving away soon.  I've had a cold for over a month and it keeps starting back up again every time I think it's over!  Must be all those new germs I'm adjusting to at my new school!  Hahaha!

Target Finds, B-day Winners, and 2nd Grade Treasures Long Awaited Product!!!!!

The Dollar Spot at my local store (which is 35 miles away, but SO worth it!) overfloweth!

Here's what I got...  The first is a picture of everything...

*SO* psyched about these "Star Student" seat backs!  I have been eying these from Really Good Stuff for a loooong time... you can't beat spending $2.00!  And, of course, I had to get pocket charts!  When I unpack my classroom, I'll take a picture of the insane amount of Dollar Spot pocket charts I have that are unopened.  Now I can add three purple ones to my hoard!

Two super cute dry erase boards for word work, erasers, and prize pencils.

Foam pennants... you know- for my whole "bunting" thing I have going on!

CONTAINERS!!!!!!!  What do I need these for?  No idea yet... but how could I pass them up?!  Love the little yellow "5 Minute Quick Quiz" book in the bottom corner.  I'm going to laminate them (they're all spelling/vocab related) and use them as a word work activity!

And... the two winners of my impromptu giveaway for my new b-day bulletin board set are...

You're both winning this and I'm e-mailing it to you now:

If you missed it, check out the comments of THIS POST for some awesome new ideas for celebrating birthdays in the classroom!  If I get time today, I may compile them into a book like I did for Christmas!

Last but not least... a while back I posted my first grade Treasures spelling packets and I have had many, many requests for the 2nd grade set.  It is FINALLY done!

This one is a little larger than the 1st grade pack... it's 306 pages... and, due to the size, it's only available at TpT (thanks for increasing the file size, Paul!).  Right now it's only $10.00!  If you download the sample, it's Unit 1, Week 1 so you can see what the packet has in it for an entire spelling week.
 Grab it on TpT!

I guess next would be a 3rd grade set with some slight modifications.  This set is identical to the 1st grade set- since it's what I used in my split class last year.  But, now that I'm movin' on up to 3rd, my brain is spinning with possibilities for the bigger kids!

Saturday Winners and a BOGO Sale!

Yesterday was a bittersweet day for me.  It was the last day of summer school and, as I realized on Thursday night, the last time I would ever teach in my building.  I actually held it together really well until noon, when summer school ended.  Lots of teacher friends came to wish me well and say goodbye and some parents who know I'm leaving came to do the same.  So, lots of tears.

But then two of my amazing new colleagues and one of their amazing husbands met me at my new building to help me clean out all of the un-needed STUFF in my room.  And boy was there a lot!  I couldn't have done it without them!  Tomorrow my sis is going to help me clean it and then I'm going to start moving in!  I can't set up until the floor is waxed later this month, but I am so excited about just getting my things in that space!

Today the hubs and I are going shopping... gotta outfit that new room with new goodies!

But, the real reason for the post:

Saturday Winners...

First up- congrats to kellydeannab who won my Teacher's Notebook giveaway!  You'll be able to download my Silent Letters tiny pack from Teacher's Notebook and I will e-mail you the others.

Second winner-  Courtney at 3rd Grade Sprinkles has won $25.00 of free stuff from my TpT store!  So, check out my TpT shop, get your list together, and shoot me an e-mail!  Now, originally, this was supposed to be whoever suggested the best name for my blog and I was supposed to choose that name.  But, you already know that I went back on that (sorry!) and so, I just randomly chose a winner from the comments.  Ya'll came up with some great names and I was so touched at how many of them were personal and really about me.  It is so cool that we all know each other so well via blogs!

Last, a BOGO sale!  I've never done one of these before... but, since it's the last day of the quarter on TpT, I'm going to do a BOGO sale for just my language arts packs.  So, if you buy one of them today, then you just need to e-mail me at christina4062@hotmail.com with your TpT username, the pack you purchased, and the one you want me to e-mail you for free.  If you buy two, you get two for free.  The Silent Letter pack is too big to e-mail!  So if you want that one, please please please download it from TpT and choose something else for free!

You can choose from:

There's 'gnome' Sound There Silent Letters pack (remember- I can't e-mail you this one, it's too big!)
Surf's Up for Synonyms
Polar Opposites Antonym pack
Marshmallow Adjectives
One Wonderful Night Prefix and Suffix pack

Ok- time for coffee... but no Golden Girls.  What's going on, Lifetime?!  Where are my girls?  They aren't on Hallmark today either!  BOOOOOOO!

Samson's Class WINNERS and an Amazing Deal for You!

Thanks for all the well wishes after my "sick with the flu" post this weekend.  I'm still not 100% better, but will be going back to school tomorrow.  Friday and Saturday I barely moved off the couch... today I'm up and around, but glad I took one more day to get well... hopefully I can get totally well by the time the bell rings at 7:45am tomorrow!

Second... thanks for the HUGE response to the Samson's Classroom giveaway!  The wonderful people at Samson's Classroom have generously offered to give three free year subscriptions away... but if you're not a winner, scroll down after the winners are announced because I'm telling you, those people are wonderful... and they've offered something AMAZING for anyone who didn't win!

So... the winners are...
Please please e-mail me at christina4062@hotmail.com so I can get your contact info and pass it along to the lovely Jessie at Samson's Classroom!

Now for the AMAZING deal for those who didn't win...

Starting today, for one week only, you can get a year's subscription to Samson's Classroom for your class for SEVENTY DOLLARS OFF the price (which is $80.00)... so... that means, you can get the year's subscription for only $10.00.  Ten dollars.  Ten clams.  Ten bucks.  Ten buckaroos.  Ten smackers.

All you have to do is enter the code BAINBRI when you check out.

Isn't that AMAZING???!!!!

Click HERE to head to their site to get your subscription for just $10.00!!!  I know your students will love it.

I've added it as a "work on words" station during Daily Five and have put our weekly spelling words on it.  My students LOVE it!  Today with our sub, they went to the computer lab to do the reading comprehension activities... I love that they are actually looking back in the passage to make sure their answers are correct because they want to earn "hammer swings"!  It has been exciting for me to hear their sweet little voices whispering out excited "YESSSS"'s when they spell their words correctly or get the answers right on a comprehension passage!  And they just love doing anything on the computer.  They are even getting on at home... what?  Doing extra work at home because they just love how fun it is?  Absolutely!

What are you waiting for?  Go!  Enter BAINBRI when you check out and you will get $70.00 off.  I told you those Samson's Classroom people were wonderful!

Here's a link back to my original post where you can see a video about Samson's Classroom and read my full review if you're still not convinced.

All right!  Hopefully I'm back to full capacity tomorrow.  I have a few more product giveaways up my sleeve... look for one at the end of this week!  Tomorrow night the hubby and I have tickets to see the musical "Young Frankenstein"... and then we're out of tickets!  Oh no!  Have a great rest of your Monday and Tuesday too!

Scooper Giveaway Winners!

Congrats to...

Check your e-mail ladies!

The pack is available at my TpT and Teacher's Notebook shops too!

Today I'm spending a lazy day at home, hoping to work on some new files and read on my Nook!  I was going to go to school but... house slippers, coffee, and listening to "Will and Grace" won!  I think I'll do school on Thursday.

Have a great day!  I'm almost done with the third book in the Gemma Dolye trilogy by Libba Bray and can't wait to finish because 1.) it's great! and 2.) I can finally do a post over at "The Best Endings"!  I'm so excited to be a contributor there, but I've been waiting to post until I've finished my series!

Winners x15, a McPhoto, My Booklist, and Something Fun for St. Patty's Day!

Ok bloggy friends... here's the big reveal...

If you're one of the people on my list, please e-mail me at christina4062@hotmail.com and let me know which item you'd like from my Teacher's Notebook Shop.  You can check out all of my items by clicking the button below.

Next... The McPhoto of me greeting at the door at McTeacher Night last night!  We raised over $700.00 for our reading month committee!!!!!

My Booklist:

Mrs. Foote asked yesterday what I'm reading on my Nook... I just finished The Mighty Miss Malone by Christopher Paul Curtis.  If you are a fan of his, this is a MUST read.  He is one of my favorite authors.  I got to see him speak a few years ago at MRA (a big reading conference) and he was just starting this book.  He read us the first 20 pages or so and it was just so hilarious!  I've been waiting for it to come out and it was released in January.  **An addition:  He's a Michigan author, ya'll!  If you think you don't know who he is, you really do.  He wrote Bud, Not Buddy, The Watsons Go to Birmingham, and Elijah of Butxon- which are his three most popular books.  I LOVE HIM!**

Now I'm reading A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray.  It's more along the lines of a teen paranormal type of thing, which is what I tend to read.  I'm about 1/4 done and I'm really enjoying it!

I still have I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella to read on my Nook yet and some "real" books that I got for Christmas.  And, I only have a few pages to go in The Fault in our Stars by John Green (who is another favorite author) but I'm super afraid that someone I love in the book is going to die, so I can't make myself read it!  However, I would highly recommend anything by John Green.  I've read (and own!) all of his books and I LOOOOVE them!  Looking for Alaska is one of his best!

Question for everyone who has a Nook... if we can connect somehow on Facebook, can we "lend" each other books?

Last:

Something fun for St. Patty's Day.  Marygrove College has posted a free mini-St. Patrick's Day unit over at their blog.  It's for K-2 and is super cute.  Last year I ruined the lives of my 1st graders because a leprechaun didn't come to our classroom and destroy everything like he did in Kindergarten.  Well, last year was my first year with firsties and I didn't know that was one of my jobs for the year!  Yeah.  Their lives were totally over that day.  I don't plan to make the same mistake this year and this mini-unit from Marygrove is perfect for a sneaky leprechaun attack!

And... if you missed out on the giveaway, all of my items are still 15% off until Sunday!  :)

3 Winners & Musicals... Obviously!

Well, "In the Heights" was AMAZING!!!!  It was positively electric and just wonderful.  You all posted such great musical posts yesterday!  :)  I had so much fun reading them!

Someone e-mailed me to ask what musicals I had seen... Are you ready for this...?  Get comfy because it's crazy.  And this all only started about five years ago... so...

The Producers, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked (x3), Cats, Hairspray, Spam-a-Lot (x2), Stomp, Beauty and the Beast, RENT (x5 and once with the Adam and Anthony- the two original lead cast members!!!), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (which is the funniest thing EVER!), Wizard of Oz, The Color Purple. West Side Story, Legally Blonde, Mary Poppins (we sat in the 5th row and she flew right over our heads!  AND... when Bert walks up that wall... OMG!!!), Fiddler on the Roof, Drum Line, Blue Man Group, Grease, Chicago, The Aluminum Show, Memphis (going again next month!), The Addams Family, My Fair Lady (and the rain in Spain was so boring!), The Rocky Horror Show, Cirque Holidaze, Rock of Ages (so fun!), and In the Heights.

We have tickets yet for Memphis, Jersey Boys, and Young Frankenstein... after that ends in May, I'm all caught up for now.  It's sick, you guys.  I just L-O-V-E musical theater.  Badly.  My hubby is so nice to support my habit!

Anywho, back to the task at hand...

I was going to select two random posts for my Common Core Math Fluency Pet Shop pack... but, Ann left the most charming comment that was just bursting with musical titles... so how can I NOT give one to her?  You'll have to check out her comment... it's #23 on yesterday's post.

And the two random winners are...
So... Emily, The Duffy's, and Ann Carnevale #23, please e-mail me at christina4062@hotmail.com and I'll zap it off to you!  I'll be scrapbooking today... yes.  We're driving in this CRAZY snow we got last night to go and scrapbook.  So, don't worry if you don't get the file right away!

Thanks for your great comments yesterday!  You guys are the best!  I'll be working on a similar pack that is aligned to 1st grade CCS soon.

And... hoping to share a freebie tomorrow!  :)

Don't forget about the Leap Day free flippy book on my Teacher's Notebook shop and all of my math stuff is 20% for the weekend!  Teacher's Notebook featured me as their "Featured Shop" this week!  I'm honored!!!!

Wednesday Snow Day and Giveaway Winners!

I love my job. I do. A lot. BUT... there is just something about hearing your phone ring at 5am on a Wednesday morning that adds a little sprinkle of awesomeness to being a teacher. So, here I am with "Will and Grace" in the background, sipping on a coffee out of my mug I got in NYC this summer, while the sun glimmers off a TON of snow outside this morning! I'm not going to lie... I'm loving it! BUT... I am going to go in to school in a little bit. It's amazing how much work I can get done when there aren't 20 1st and 2nd graders who need my attention! Hahaha! :)

Did you see yesterday's blog post? I'm working on compiling a list of Christmas party foods, games, activities/crafts, and ways to do a gift exchange. I would LOVE to add your ideas to the booklet so we have a HUGE resource we can all use to plan for extraordinary holiday parties for our kiddos! A few people commented yesterday and said they plan to use the ideas as a guide for parents who are planning class parties, which I think is an awesome idea! If you didn't share your great ideas yet, please do! If you click the image below, it will take you to that blog post so you can share your ideas and I'll add them to the final product and share it this weekend. And, don't worry Mrs. Cash... I changed your name in the booklet! :)
Anyhow, I wanted to share the winners of my giveaway for the "Nice and Naughty" Christmas party math game that I blogged about earlier this week on my first post about Christmas party ideas.

So, if your lucky number appears below, please e-mail me at christina4062@hotmail.com so I can send you your free copy! The game will be available on The Teaching Oasis soon if you'd like to purchase it!

Soooo... I've chosen 5 winners!

They are...
Well... I tried to do the screenshot thing... but it doesn't look great! So... #6 cmh06, #21 Kelly B aka Queen Bee!, #22 Amy, #33 Amy, and #4 Jen R. please e-mail me at christina4062@hotmail.com ASAP so I can get this item to you!
