Michigan Mini-Meet up, Win, Shop, and Other Randomness!

It's Wednesday!  Tomorrow we are going to a Tigers game in Detroit!  Now, I'm not a huge baseball fan.  Football is my true love and I love me some Lions!  So, while everyone else is watching the game, I'll be staring off into the distance at Ford Field, imagining my team with a winning season!

On Friday, hubs and I are leaving for a trip up north.  We're going to say ya to da UP 'eh.  And if you're a Michigander, you'll totally get that!

Anywho... today I have some info for you!

I posted this pic on my blog's FB page and a lot of people asked what I was going to do with these.  I have to be honest with you.

Do you know Gollum?  The character from "The Lord of the Rings"?

Do you know how he feels about the ring?  Well, I'm like that about my pocket charts.  I mostly just look at them and mutter things about how much I love them.  Seriously.  I have a problem.  The truth is, I don't have a plan for them.  I just needed them.  And they were $1.  So, naturally, I bought them all.  Yeah.  It's bad.

4.) And finally... we're having another Michigan Meet-Up!  This is a mini one... and let me explain about it...

In Kalamazoo (behind the Crossroads Mall and next to the move theater)  is a store called The Teacher's Center.  Every year they had a big preview day in the summer.  There are reps from all the major companies, discounts, and free large desk calendars!  This year it is on Thursday, July 18, from 9:00am-3:00pm.

So, we are thinking that we will meet for lunch at Brann's Steakhouse- which is RIGHT next to the Teacher's Center at 1:00pm.  What you do before that, is up to you... I'll be shopping and taking advantage of discounts, freebies, and fun!  I plan to be at the store around 10:00am and if I finish shopping early, there's a Target nearby and I'll probably need more pocket charts by then!  Haha!

Michigan Meet-Up, Flash Sale!, and Instagram... Help!

Yesterday was our Michigan blogger meet up and it was a huge success!  We met at PF Chang's and, after a few people took the VERY scenic route due to some ca-razy GPS systems, we ate and chatted and had a ton of fun!

So... here's who came... 1st pic at the top is me and Patty from 2nd in Line.  Next to us are Amy from The Resource(ful) Room, Julie from Make, Take & Teach, and Marsha from A Differentiated Kindergarten.  Below Amy, Julie, and Marsha are Kelly from All That Glitters in First Grade, her mom who is a 2nd grade teacher, Betsy, and then Laura from Enchanting Elementary.  At the very bottom is a pic of our tasty dinner and then to the left of that are Ellen from Primary Classrooms are Oceans of Fun, Maria from Kinder Craze, and our resident directions expert, Kara from Sped-Ventures.

And finally... during out meet-up yesterday everyone was talking about Instagram.  I'll admit it.  I didn't really know what it was.  And I also didn't know if I could do another thing.  But I downloaded the app during the meal, signed up the second I got home, and am having fun trying to figure it out!

I'd love it if you followed me on Instagram.  Right now I only have to pics up... one of my dog and one of my coffee today... but I want to try to post "life" pics and a few school things from time to time.

I'm still not quiet sure what to do with it, so I'd love your help to figure Instagram out!

It was SO fun and I feel like I have 8 new friends!  :)  And, I didn't know some of the blogs so now I have new blogs to follow too!!!!!

We swapped school horror stories, shared books we love, talked technology, and got to know each other better... we even talked about some of YOU!  Who makes us laugh, who says stuff we would be too afraid to say on our own blogs (you brave blogger you!), who is lucky and wins all the giveaways...!

Thanks, ladies, for a super fun afternoon!  I hope we can do it again soon and more people can come and join us!

For some reason, the picture my camera took stinks and is super bright... put on some shades before you proceed!... so hopefully some of you got better pictures!

And here's the "perch the camera precariously on the ledge and set the timer while rushing back to your seat and waiting for it to flash" pose, which is a weird mixture of way too light and also DARK!
