  1. I love to teach the writing process! It was one of the first things I learned about in my education classes in college and makes my students so much more independent when it comes to each writing assignment we complete!

  2. I love to teach opinion writing...and it is really fun to have students switch and write about the viewpoint opposite of theirs every now and then!

  3. I LOVE to teach all the rules of grammar and writing. It is great when I can give students a mnemonic device to remember all those tricky grammar rules.

  4. My favorite writing thing is writing monthly memories with the kiddos, then at the end of the year they put all of their monthly writing together to make a memory book. It's pretty cool to look through all of the writing and see how much they've grown through the year!

  9. This looks great! I'm moving up to 3rd grade next year and want to start off teaching writing in a strong way. This would definitely help! This year in first, I loved to teach onomatopoeia because the kids had so much fun with it! Thanks!

  10. I've done a few interactive math notebook activities with my kids this year, and they have loved them! Not to mention, their scores were higher when we did interactive notebooks! So I plan on doing as many interactive notebooks as possible with next year's class!

  22. Writing is hard in 2nd grade. They are not very fond of writing so I try to pull it in during all lessons but especially during the fun lessons!! We do opinion writing and I believe that is when my students have the most fun with writing! Or during our free write time during journal writing.

  36. I love having my kids write their own variation of a fairy tale. What if type or just changing a character or a perspective. So fun to see their creativity. I would love to win, thanks for creating this!

  37. I really like to teach storytelling. In 6th grade many of my students think it's not cool to be creative and have an imagination! It is so scary. This year I have made it my mission to break them out of that thinking! We have been doing fun story prompts every Friday and then student can share what they have written. It did take some time, but now I have students coming up to share their stories and even doing voices! So much fun!
