I am so excited to unveil my latest creation for my kiddos... a pet shop themed math workstation pack that is aligned to the 2nd grade Common Core! Of course, my firsties will be using this too as some of them are ready to do the centers in the set.
The pack is 62 pages and has 7 different centers!
Tonight I'm going to see "In the Heights" and I am SOOOO excited! I've been memorizing the soundtrack for a month and can't wait! Next month we have "Jersey Boys" AND "Memphis" (which we saw in NYC last summer and it was AMAZING!!!). Anyway, I want to share my joy of the theater with you in a weird little way that doesn't really convey anything about the theater, but is still me sharing something none-the-less. I'll have this pack- and all the rest of my math stuff- on sale for 20% off in my shop for the weekend... AND... I'll choose 2 random winners tomorrow to receive the pack for free!
Just leave a comment and say something for a chance to win! Preferential treatment will be given to a comment relating to musical theater! :) Just kidding!

I too love musicals, but I am not familiar with In The Heights. I hope you have a great time and can sleep with the music sailing through your ears tonight! I don't know how actors can learn their songs and not sing them ALL the time. The few times that I have done musicals with my students, I can't sleep, shower, or drive without those words going through my head!
ReplyDeleteYour unit looks wonderful. I hope I'm a winner!
Have a great time! I'm loving the pet theme!! :) Thanks for sharing your fabulous ideas.

Adorable, creative, and fabulous resource you have created! Thank you!....and on the theater note....my all time fave is "West Side Story"...although I saw "Hair" last year and will never forget THAT experience! ha!ha!ha!
ReplyDeleteYou've done it again, you are awesome! My daughter is in a local musical theater group. She is 8, they are opening Sleeping Beauty Jr. next weekend. This is her fourth one and I never tire of watching them, I go to every performance. I wake up in the morning singing the songs, I love it!
ReplyDeleteUh oh - being a fellow Michigan girl isn't enough for preferential treatment? I have three boys in my house who have no interest...it's such a bummer. I would be interested...if I had somebody in my world who would go with me. HAVE FUN!!!! And your pack looks amazing. Just curious...about how long did it take you to complete the whole creation?

I love theater, however we don't get much of it in the rural area I live in. I did get to see Mama Mia in London, which was Ah-Mazing!

Finally in First
We have a training next week because we are switching to Common Core next year instead of Georgia Performance Standards. I am excited about all the common core stuff I am seeing on your blog and others. Oh, and I am a huge musical fan! I fell in love after I saw Wicked in NYC. I have seen it three times now! So jealous you are seeing so many....
ReplyDeleteIt is "Wicked" bad that I can't buy items from your Teacher's Notebook site, and only get error messages trying to buy from you. It's like a "Little Shop of Horrors" when I can't get what I want. I talked with the "Guys and Dolls" from PayPal's customer support today, I was ready to pull my "Hair" out. I got a real "Song and Dance" from them, but eventually they said they couldn't find a problem on their end, and it had to be the seller (ie, you/Teacher's Notebook). I ended up trying to buy something from another seller on there, to see what would happen just "Once." I was able to buy from another seller on there w/o a problem. I don't want to "Stomp" off, and not buy this great sounding center, but do want to let you know there's some issue there. So, if I could win this, "Mama Mia" would I be excited!
ReplyDeleteI'm 100 years old (well, I feel like it since I broke my foot & I'm using a walker...lol) and I have never in my life went to a musical. Well, unless you count going with 150 children...but I don't really think that counts since I can honestly say I can't even remember what it was about. I hope you have a wonderful time!!

Have fun and love the theme of your packet
ReplyDeleteOne of our district high schools is hosting a high school show choir competition this weekend. There will be 21 midwestern groups from jr. highs and high schools competing. It sounds like a "Glee"-fest to me!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I just recently found your blog. I had visited your website before but it is not the same as having a message drop into my RSS feeds almost daily. Thank You!
I am looking forward to trying out the Leap Day Flippy Book next week.
I love all of your work! Your blog and website have so many great resources! Thank you for creating and sharing all of your wonderful activities!!!!
